Classes for Ages 6 to 9
This class is for the dancer who has completed Jazz I or has a couple years of dance training. More advanced Jazz steps and combinations will be taught. Dancers will work on become more technically proficient in their Jazz training.
A beginner-level hip hop class taught to popular clean music. Steps are taught in the style frequently seen on television and music videos, utilizing high and low impact footwork and isolations.
This class generates body control and awareness, musicality, and most importantly, a safe space to have some fun!
Ballet teaches proper placement, alignment, balance, technique and control. Students will focus on improving strength, control, and body positioning in barre, center work and progressions across the floor, as well as learning all of the vocabulary and terminology.
Tap dancers will work on increasing cardiovascular conditioning, strength, flexibility, and coordination. Tap dance combinations will build strength in the legs and feet in addition to increasing flexibility in the hips, knees and ankles. Audible, rhythmical steps are taught in a progressive class setting, starting at beginning, Level II and working towards advance, Level V.
Lyrical dance is a style that combines Ballet andJazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song. This style concentrates on an individual approach and expressiveness of such emotions as love, joy, hurt, or anger. It does not concentrate on the dancer’s precision of movement.
